Conceptual thinkers, budding fashion designers and film makers will have the chance to stretch their imaginations in the 2011 Citroen Creative Awards contest.

The contest follows the first event held in 2010 and this year is divided into three categories (Idea, Style and Video), challenging entrants to submit ideas that bring advances in the car industry that are related to their particular discipline.

The Idea category is described by the organisers thus: “Your projects must be innovative concepts you would like to see in your Citroen vehicle in the future, in order to improve time spent in the car. Identify and propose new uses, for new situations. Your project may be accompanied with an explanatory visual. Use it to explain your proposal and devise a solution. All ideas are welcome and you can submit several.”

The organisers say the Style category should “Take inspiration from the car, its materials and style to create a man’s and/or woman’s outfit that could be worn by the driver or passenger.”

In the Video category, participants must “Create a video presenting your reinterpretation of the codes of luxury, in any sector whatsoever.”

Winners in each category will be selected by an international panel of judges including top magazine editors and style directors. The competition will close at the end of November. Full details can be found at www.citroencreativeawards.com

The awards will be presented in January 2012. First prize winners in each category will be invited to Paris to receive their awards and will visit Citroen’s virtual reality centre and driving simulator.

The 2010 Citroen Creative Awards saw 700 entrants from more than 50 countries submit a personalised DS3 roof design. The judging panel, which included senior figures from GQ, the Cartier Foundation and Louis Vuitton, selected the winning entry by Flavio Melchiorre from Italy
